The Truth About Obtaining Eternal Life

1. Salvation begins with God

"And he said, therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father." John 6:65

2. We Must Repent and Believe

"And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye and believe the gospel." Mark 1:15

"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." John 6:37

3. Faith and Repentance = Salvation

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:8-10

"In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth." 2 Timothy 2:25

The Truth is that all of us will live somewhere eternally. Salvation begins when God convicts us of our sin ("For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23.) We realize that sin must be paid for ("For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23.) We understand that Jesus Christ paid our penalty in full. When these things take place, we then can accept His sacrificial atonement on Calvary and trust in Him alone for our salvation.
